Your style roots for spring 2024 🌼

I have spent hours trawling my favourite high street websites to locate the best items and trends for your style roots

Mushroom

Shop the collection HERE *

Linen suits

Linen is one of my favourite fabrics for the spring season. This year I’m seeing linen go beyond the blazer and into all suit elements including skirts, trainers and shirts. Linen is a great mushroom fabric as it is often neutral, simple and balanced as its not too stiff

Skirt - & Other Stories *

Safari style

Safari-inspired pieces are back this summer! I am particularly excited about this one as this is one of my favourite aesthetics. A paired back, relaxed version of the safari aesthetic is perfect for mushroom as it bridges that gap between mountain and stone

jumpsuit - mango *

Suede trainers

Gazelles are in everybody’s shopping basket, and the smart, sleek suede trainer trend that has popped up as a result is perfect for mushroom. It is the perfect harmony between casual and neat, giving a relaxed calmness without being sloppy.

trainers - mint velvet *

Mountain

Waistcoats

Waistcoats are back for another year, but this time they are longer and even smarter. As blazers and suit trousers are so normalised today, the waistcoat is the perfect way to nod towards your professional and powerful side by incorporating a new part of the suit structure into your outfits

Waistcoat - & Other Stories *

Long tailored skirt

The office siren trend took off earlier this year, pulling from 00s movies such as The Devil Wears Prada. Tailored, office-style pieces combined with 00s silhouettes such as the low rise pencil skirt are really popular this spring as a result.

tailored maxi skirt - & Other Stories *

Short trench coat

The mini trench coat is EVERYWHERE! Especially if you have a petite body type, this is your perfect time to get a smart coat for more casual occasions

trench coat - Hobbs *

Sun

Shop the collection HERE

Patterned neck scarf

I am seeing beautiful silk neck scarves everywhere! I am loving this simple infusion of pattern and colour into any outfit

Neck scarf - Mango *

Maxi dresses

VOLUME! Those with the sun root like to take up space and a voluminous maxi dress is the perfect way to do that

maxi dress - & Other Stories *

Stripes

Stipes big or small always have a playful, youthful vibe as they create high contrast and invoke the image of a rainbow

Dress - Mint Velvet *

Flower

Shop the collection HERE

Quilted jacket

Oversized, bulky quilted jackets have been on trend for the last year, but now they are becoming more delicate and gentle so now is the perfect time for us flower girlies to snatch one up!

Quilted jacket - Free People *

Metallic ballet flats

Ballerinas are still kicking strong, with a metallic twist seeming to be especially popular. If you like the more ethereal side of flower, this shimmery element will be perfect for you

ballet flats - dune *

Adorned shoes

If you would like to add a touch of whimsy, the trend of adding adornments to shoes whether it be embroidery, jewels or otherwise, could be for you

mules - free people *

Moon

Shop the collection HERE

Snakeskin

I am obsessed with the snakeskin trend I am seeing everywhere! After a little blow up of cheetah and leopard in the winter, snakeskin is the softer cousin for spring

Ballet flats - Arket *

Chunky mules

Birkenstocks new design last year went absolutely viral, and the mules trend will live to see another summer. The chunkier version is perfect for the moon root

mules - doc martens *

Gilet

The 1980s gilet is the grungier extension of the waistcoat trend. This is perfect for you Kate Moss lovers or rock n roll festival goers.

gilet - free people *

Earth

Shop the collection HERE

Patterned quilted coat

The quilted jacket is perfect for so many of the style roots. A patterned jacket is perfect for earth as it is an easy way to add an eclectic, bohemian edge to an otherwise simple look

quilted jacket - mint velvet *

Boat shoes

Boat shoes are perfect for the outdoorsy, preppy earth lover. They have a rough, natural quality.

Boat shoes - Timberlands *

Barrel jeans

Barrel jeans are one of the coolest trends to come out this year. They are divisive because on the wrong body type they can be overwhelming, but worn right they make an incredible statement

barrel jeans - free people *

Fire

Shop the collection HERE

Bright olive green

This incredible colour is the perfect summer shade for fire as it is topical and lush

Jumpsuit - Mint Velvet *

Jumpsuits

The jumpsuits that are popular this year are figure-hugging and sexy, with the trouser element adding a maturity to what is otherwise a dress silhouette

jumpsuit - mango *

Off the shoulder

Off shoulder necklines hark back to Regina George in Mean Girls era and are everywhere!

top - Arket *

Stone

Shop the collection HERE

Mesh shoes

As much as I am not the greatest lover of the mesh shoe, I think its the perfect mix of an “idgaf” shoe and industrial textures - for the more fashion-savvy girl with the stone root, this shoe is the perfect addition to your wardrobe

Mesh shoe - Arket *

Denim midi skirt

I love that denim skirts have gone beyond the 2010s a-line mini, and this year the midi skirt is in. This is a great length for stone as it is relaxed and boyish

denim midi skirt - Arket *

Baseball cap

Baseball caps are so timeless it’s hard to call them a trend, but in an era where hats aren’t on trend, this hat caught my eye. This is such an easy way to add a sporty spin to any look
