Subscriber post: What I wore to an October wedding
Some insights into how to choose a dress for a wedding, rewearing dresses for formal events and how to wear a colour which is a bit bright for you.
I have literally had four weddings and a funeral this year so I had to really test the boundaries of my wardrobe. Out of these events I bought one new dress and re-wore others that I already I know I love - one from when I was 17! The only new one was my bridesmaid’s dress for obvious reasons. I really believe in buying beautiful formal dresses when you come across them - not loads, just 2 or 3 - that really fit you and your style so that when an event comes around you don’t panic buy, and its a dress you know and love.
So many of us have the mentality that if it's been seen before on your social media or in person that its specialness has somehow been worn off - but that’s not true! If you wore a certain dress two years ago I can assure you people will not remember it - your outfits are much less interesting to everyone else as they are to you. This is sad but true.
