What I really thought of the costumes in Snow White

Why Snow White’s wardrobe left me wishing for a different kind of remake.

Yesterday, I went to see Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White. I tried to be open-minded despite the criticism that is EVERYWHERE.

While it wasn’t the cinematic trainwreck the internet seems desperate to brand it as, it left me... underwhelmed.Not because I’m a purist about fairy tales, or allergic to modern reinterpretations. But because I couldn’t quite find the point… or the magic.

I was curious to investigate why the dress felt so cheap against Rachel Zegler. I think it is easy to blame just the budget for something like this, but it can be a lack of harmony which leads to this effect, and that is the case here.
